Well, the definition for this category was: A Tutorial is basically a lesson in which the creator gives detailed instructions on how to do a certain thing. Each category is the name of a program/technique. So I have decided to become a wiseass and added a twist to it. Here is the following lesson that I share with you...

Crab Rangoons 101
1 (14 ounce) package small won ton wrappers
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
some random spices you want to put into it
3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 pound imitation crabmeat, shredded
1 quart oil for frying

DIRECTIONS:
Heat oil in a large heavy skillet or deep fryer to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C).
In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese, soy sauce, spices, and crabmeat.
Place 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold the won ton wrapper over the stuffing to make any shape you want, in this case, its a simple envelope pattern. Moisten the edges with a little water, and seal. Place prepared won tons under a slightly moist paper towel until ready for frying.
Add 3 or 4 wontons to the hot oil, and cook until golden brown, turning once. Set aside on paper towels to drain. Repeat until all wontons have been fried. Serve hot.

Boom. Lemme know if oyu make em. Send me some even :)

I cook, so I find this very cool. I eat those cream cheese thingies all of the time at the asian buffets I go to, but the crabmeat is new to me. I may try this one day.

Oh kewlness! I thought id be different and have a different style of tutorial, rather than how to draw and such (cause i can't do that!)

tips: imitation crab meat is way cheaper than the real one (as far as i can tell)

lemme know how it turns out!

*Wants more food tutorials*

But but but . . . imitation crabmeat makes me sad. However, it's silly to put real crabmeat in anything except an all-lump crabcake . . . :floating: . . . so I guess that's ok. I should try this sometime.

What is the difference between a deep skillet and a deep fryer? *is clueless, as he has never used a deep fryer*

Hrm, I should tutorialize the various bits of my gingerbread house making stuff. Like wickerwork and laid stone steps . . . hrm. Thanks for the idea!

Well, im glad you like the imitation crabmeat idea :)

I have no clue as to what the difference is between a deep skillet and a deep fryer. If you notice in the picture, allI used was a regular frying pan, with oil to basically cover the entire rangoon. I did flip it over one throughout frying them though.

Wow, thanks for the gingerbread link :)

Fair enough . . . hrm, that means I could prolly make these with the equipment I have . . .

And re: the gingerbread, I'm always ready for shameless self-promotion! ;)

I remember once I gave someone a gift and instead of tissue paper I used like four hundred of those little buggers. When she opened it stars flew everywhere=) .
